Morph Kiteboarding & Red Bull Isla Blanca Photoshoot Video

Notes from Morph:

To be able to deliver a great quality lesson, we encourage you to book in advance, as we work exclusively by appointment, so we can keep an eye on the forecast, and get the best wind conditions for your lesson, we would take walk-ins, however we can not guarantee availability. Gracias.

Just 25 minutes north of Cancun lies an undisturbed peninsula of white sandy beaches and virgin jungle. Isla Blanca is framed by the Caribbean Sea and the Chacmuchuk Lagoon and is a secret little hideaway, a great getaway from the hustle and bustle of Cancun. It’s a tranquil oasis for those who want to escape the large resorts and busy beaches. Our kite boarding school attracts the adventure crowd, their brightly colored sails dotting the sky over the lagoon.

This location is fantastic to learn how to kiteboard, due to the shallow ( waist deep ) flat waters,we normally go there from October through  April every time there is a Cold front or North wind coming in. In average, there are 50 cold fronts per season, making it impossible to kite anywhere in the Mayan Riviera, due to these winds being OFF SHORE on the coast side.

However, what we do is set up a road trip which we include for free when anybody books a lesson within any of the Morph locations, to make sure everybody gets to kite.

Isla Blanca is located 1 hour away from our Xpu Ha and Maroma locations, and 1.30 hours away from our Tulum location.

Isla Blanca Road Trip

The experience the students have after this road trip, definitely is worth the sacrifice, however it is only recommended for those who have 100% interest in kiteboarding only, if the family wants to join you for a day trip it´s not really recommendable because there is not much else to do there, and we normally take the whole day, coming back around 5 pm just to make it back home when it´s dark.

We recommend you to bring:

- your own food and drinks, there is a small restaurant there with not many choices.
- Wetsuit or shorties are good to bring, because it can get chilly
- also a sweater or windbreaker is a good idea.
- Change of dry clothes for the way back.

How to get there:

Once in Cancun, take the BONAMPAK road, all the way in direction towards the Ferry Dock that goes to Isla Mujeres, you will find an intersection with LOPEZ PORTILLO Avenue, you can continue on the same BONAMPAK road under the bridge, and keep going, untill you finally see PLAYA MUJERES COMPLEX of Resorts, there is a round about and you have to take the left road, bordering the GOLF COURSE, keep going untill you find the DIRT ROAD in the next round about, and keep going straight all the way into Isla Blanca, in the km 11th, to your left you will find IKARUS, another Kite Spot, keep going as we are established 2 km North of them, our location is the last one on the point where the road ends.  you can park right at Restaurant ACAPULCO, and find us on the water!
